Siril a Responsive Blogger Theme
Hello Guys, As I Announced, From Today onwards I'm Starting this template series. The first template of the BTNT Weekly Special is Siril a responsive blogger template. Siril is a minimal theme with a clean design. Then main advantage of this theme is page speed, It got 90/100 in Google PageSpeed Insights. It has a custom author widget below the main menu which only shows on index pages.

How to Upload the Blogger Template

  1. Go to Blogger Dashboard > Locate your Blog if you have more then one blog.
  2. Click on More Options Drop Down and choose Template
  3. Click on the Backup/Restore button on Top Right Corner
  4. Click on Download Full Template button to backup your Old template for safety
  5. Click the Browse button and locate Siril a Responsive blogger template.
  6. Click on the Upload Button. And you are Done!

Customization

These are basic steps you need to follow for each customization.
  1. On New Blogger Dashboard Go to Template > Edit HTML Button

Customize the Navigation Menu

Search for the Following Code 
<!-- Main Menu -->
After that you will see a Link list items Customize it your own.

Customize the Author info (Author Info widget below navigation menu)

Search for the Following Code
<!-- Author Info -->
After that you will see a code similar to the following code, In the following code replace the highlighted orange color with your author info and replace the blue links with your profile links.

After changing the profile links, Search for the following link and replace it with your profile image link (Image Size: 150 X 150)

Now Click save button. ;)

      It's not necessary since the image will align automatically. But we can also add aligned image.

    Can you tell me that, what could be the best practices to speedup our blog? is there any tool to combined all CSS and JAVA SCRIPT files into one combined file so it can reduce the load time of our blog?

      Hi Rizwan,

      There are some tools to combine css and javascripts but It's not the best solution because sometime it'll crash the scripts.

      Best Practice is to make it manually.

    Thank you for this template.

    I uploaded it to my new blog, and I'm editing the items as you explained above. After adding my image, I clicked "Save Template" but I'm receiving the following error message:

    Error parsing XML, line 18, column 10: The processing instruction target matching "[xX][mM][lL]" is not allowed.

    What should I do so that I can save my blog?

    Oops, never mind! I logged out of my blog and then went back in and tried editing the HTML a second time, and it worked. I don't know what I did wrong the first time, but it's okay now.

      To add Pinterest icon add the following CSS code before ]]></b:skin>

      ul.author-social li.pinterest { background: url("http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-OHo_qurvr30/U2zTHemyp4I/AAAAAAAAC-E/f0yL3cO1fvg/s1600/pinterest.png") no-repeat scroll 0 0 rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); }

      After that add the following html code next to (Facebook, Twitter and Google+) links to show the icon.

      <li class="pinterest"><a href="YOUR-PINTEREST-PROFILE-URL">Pinterest</a></li>

      Now save your Template, That's all :)

      P.S. Replace YOUR-PINTEREST-PROFILE-URL with your Pinterest Profile url.

      To change the background color search for body{ background: #F2F4F9;

      Replace #F2F4F9 with #FFFFFF

      Now click Save button, That's all :)

    Hello, I'm currently using your theme on my blog, but I was wondering if it is possible to add a footer area for me to stick follower and subscriber gadgets. I don't like having them at the bottom of the posts as they make it look cluttered (totally unlike the rest of the theme) and the sidebar is already long enough without adding them there.

    First I just want to say that I absolutely adore your templates! But this one is by far my favorite. It is just what I was looking for for my blog. This isn't my first time using a custom template so I thought I wouldn't have any trouble replacing your info and links with my own, especially since you've been kind enough to provide instructions. But I can't seem to locate the codes we need to replace in the HTML. Such as the "Meet the Author" section. I can't find that code anywhere in the HTML. I've been through it over and over again thinking I must have just missed it but it's just not there. So I don't know what to do now. I really, really want to use this template, because it is just perfect, but I won't be able to if I can't put my own info/picture into it. :-(
    I really hope you get this and can help me figure out what I am doing wrong.

      I was stuck to. I found them under the little black arrows on the sides. You click and they open up alot more code. You have to scroll down a bit to see the first arrow.
